The design/build process for Crushpad in Charlottesville Virginia found me living like a monk above the future restaurant, where I spent day and night studying materials and how they wish to be joined. A shelf system strong enough to support a literal truckload of wine, accessible by rolling ladder, a 40’ bar of steel and cherry wood slabs, and back bar shelf system of compound angles and integrated custom lighting. Roughly a four month residency - please feel free to visit in person.
For the Calhoun Residence, a custom lamppost, designed with their home’s linear aesthetic in mind.
Also, a mezzanine and stair railing to meet code with minimal obstruction of their two-story, Blue Ridge-facing windows.
